Plan Description
This elegant single-story cottage is a masterclass in minimalist charm, proving that a home doesn’t need a massive footprint to offer a grand sense of comfort and style. The exterior immediately captures the eye with its clean modern farmhouse aesthetic, featuring crisp white vertical board-and-batten siding that provides a vertical rhythm to the facade. A classic hipped roof, finished in deep gray shingles, sits perfectly atop the structure, while a recessed front porch offers a sheltered, welcoming spot to enjoy the outdoors. Supported by three simple square columns, the porch frames a beautiful natural wood front door and dark-framed windows that add a sophisticated, high-contrast touch to the home's bright silhouette.
Stepping through the front door, you enter an open-concept living area where every square inch is utilized to perfection. The great room, measuring nearly fifteen feet by fourteen feet, serves as the heart of the home under an eight-foot ceiling. This space feels airy and connected, flowing directly into a galley-style kitchen. The kitchen is designed for both functionality and social interaction, featuring a long counter space with a built-in dishwasher and sink on one side, and a range with a hood on the other. A doorway from the kitchen leads to a rear concrete pad, offering a seamless transition for outdoor dining or gardening access.
The layout is thoughtfully organized to keep the utility of daily life separate from the quiet of the sleeping quarters. A central hallway branches off the main living area, leading to a dedicated pantry with built-in shelving and a functional laundry room. One of the most practical features of this plan is the large external storage closet, measuring over six feet by nearly six feet, which is integrated into the home’s structure but accessed from the front porch—the perfect spot for stowing seasonal gear or tools without cluttering the interior.
The relationship between the primary sleeping area and its amenities is designed with a focus on convenience and privacy. Bedroom 1, measuring approximately eleven feet by ten and a half feet, functions as the primary suite. It is situated at the front of the house to capture natural light through its large windows. This room transitions effortlessly into its dedicated walk-in closet, which is a standout feature of the plan; it includes built-in shoe racks and shelving, providing a boutique-like organization for your wardrobe. The central bathroom is located just steps away in the hallway, featuring a full ten-foot length that accommodates a combined tub and shower unit, serving both the primary bedroom and the adjacent second bedroom with ease. This home plan is an ideal choice for those who appreciate a layout that prioritizes a clutter-free lifestyle and the timeless beauty of a simple, well-crafted sanctuary.
